A&WMA’s Central Texas Chapter’s meeting on October 17th
Topic: San Antonio Ozone Nonattainment
Mr. Vermillion will cover the history of the ozone nonattainment discussion and overview updates under the 2015 ozone standard, revolving around San Antonio/Bexar County. To understand the larger San Antonio ozone nonattainment story, it is necessary to consider the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and Houston-Galveston-Brazoria (HGB) nonattainment areas as well. The Bexar and DFW/HGB discussion is very intertwined. We will examine how San Antonio is a subset of a much larger discussion.
Speaker: Mr. Johnny Vermillion, Air Program Manager
Johnny Vermillion joined Spirit Environmental in 2016 as an Air Quality Program Manager following his retirement from a 28-year career at the TCEQ. During Johnny’s time at TCEQ, Johnny served in a large number of roles within the Office of Air with the majority of his time spent as a Senior Technical Specialist and as a Project/Team Leader. His main focus was in Program Support and Coordination, where he helped develop and coordinate permit program approaches, such as flexible permits, qualified facility flexibility (the Senate Bill 1126), voluntary emission reduction permits, and existing facility permits. Johnny has “touched” nearly every air permitting program and industry in Texas!
